After merging with TSYS, Global Payments needed to position itself as the preeminent payments solution provider, offering the world’s most complete payments ecosystem and unrivaled expertise.

The goal was to create a rebranding focused on client leadership, their unique balance of innovation with proven performance and their unrivaled power of their comprehensive global payments ecosystem.

Research and exploration of brand concepts, creation of the brand system, illustration style, definition of rules and creation of the brand guidelines.

The first step was to think about the brand strategy from a visual perspective to achieve thoughtful ideas before jumping into design executions. We started to take a look to our surroundings: Where is the brand right now, what are the competitors doing, what is the brand looking to be and what is our inspiration.

From the findings of that research, we created 5 creative territories that could accommodate to the client’s needs visually and strategically.

The brand system was born from the idea of interconnection (transactions), simplicity and expansion. This being represented visually with geometric shapes overlapping each other creating new shapes and interactions.

After locking the brand main identity elements we started to explore and test this visual system on the illustrative elements to complete and build a whole functional and flexible ecosystem.
